The answers to some popular questions

See below for the answers to the most popular questions about inkXchange.

Q: How can inkXchange offer such LOW prices?

A: We buy HP, Canon and Lexmark inkjets in vast quantities allowing us to pass on the saving to you. Also, your empty cartridges have a commercial value allowing us to further discount our prices to save you even more £££s compared to the high street.

Q: What if I don't have an empty cartridge to send you yet?

A: That’s not a problem! Just add £2.00 per cartridge.

Q: Can I order Epson inkjet cartridges?

A: Sorry, we can’t help here. Our inkXchange programme only includes the HP, Canon and Lexmark cartridges listed on our price list.

Q: Can you supply a cartridge if mine isn’t on your price list?

A: The inkXchange programme includes the most popular HP, Canon and Lexmark cartridges and limits itself to those included on our Latest Price List.

Q: Do I have to use the inkXchange FREEPOST envelope?

A: We encourage you to re-use your own sturdy envelopes. Please wrap your cartridges in bubble wrap, or similar, to protect them and send one of our printable order forms to our freepost address.

Q: How can I check which cartridge I need to buy?

A: The numbers on your cartridge should relate to those on our Latest Prices.

Q: Your HP cartridge part numbers have an 'e' at the end. Why?

A: Well, the short answer is that cartridges with the 'e' are the same as ones without. For example, an HP 51645ae is the same cartridge as the HP 51645a.

The longer answer is that HP have different codes on their packaging for use in different regions of the world. The 'e' at the end means that HP have packaged the cartridge for sale within their EMEA region (Europe, Middle East, Africa). Other regions have different suffixes; the Far East uses 'a', America is 'n', etc. The suffix usually appears on the packaging, but the cartridge itself often doesn't show it. The 'e' packaging includes installation instructions in English and other European languages.

Some retailers acquire their cartridges unofficially from outside Europe, in particular from the Far East. Their customers might end up with a slightly cheaper product but with non-European packaging, and without English instructions or customer care information. We do not do this.

Q: What does inkXchange guarantee?

A: We guarantee that the cartridges we sell you are new, original products from HP, Canon or Lexmark as ordered, with their full warranty. inkXchange will never supply you with refilled or recycled cartridges. For full details, please see our Warranty.

Q: Can I buy cartridges from inkXchange online?

A: Our service is currently available by mail order only

Q: Is there any small print?

A: Our terms and conditions apply to all orders.

The inkXchange programme only applies to the United Kingdom. Postage & packing of £1.95 to be added to each order.

Q: What if my new cartridge from inkXchange is faulty or damaged?

A: Very occasionally you might receive a damaged or faulty cartridge and need to return it to us. In addition, inkXchange gives you a no-quibble right to cancel your order.

Our Returns Procedure will help you.
